Winter Carnival
Today we went to the world headquarters of General Mills for a winter carnival. It's a small event they put on for all kids to enjoy. We're usually late for everything, but since Jon was going to go ice fishing after, he wanted to make sure we got there early so we could get out early. We did get there early, in fact about 20 minutes too early. Once into the lunchroom where the event was held, we headed straight to the face painters because Natalie was excited to get something on her face. She got a kitty. Daniel wasn't so sure about the whole thing, but after I got a dog on my hand, he got a dinosaur on his. After the face/hand painting, we went over and got some delicious hot chocolate and iced sugar cookies. They were a snowman face and they tasted good. Then we headed over to the area and made the kids some scarves. Fleece, ends cut and knotted (like your blankets Tricia - single layer though). Just as simple as that. We tried to get Natalie into the music that was being played, but all she wanted to do was get out of there because it was too loud for her. She covered her ears with her scarf. (Poor girl, she has more of me in her than I thought. I too hated loud noises as a child. Still do for some things). Jon snapped some photos of us when we were standing behind some cutouts and then we went on our way. Jon headed to the frozen lake and we headed home. Jon has the camera and won't be home tonight so I'll have to add photos tomorrow. Yes, he is going to spend the night in an ice fishing house. It's not the ice fishing I remember as a child. Wuss.
